Liam Neeson Makes Rare Comment About Falling in Love With Late Wife Natasha Richardson

While reflecting on his breakout U.S. role in the 1993 revival of Anna Christie on Broadway, the Taken star recalled making a connection with his costar Natasha Richardson, who would become his wife a year later.
“It was great doing it every night with her,” Liam, 73, said in an interview with the New York Times published July 31. “And falling in love.”
Liam—who shares sons Micheál, 30, and Daniel, 28, with Natasha—would remain married to The Parent Trap actress until her tragic death in 2009 at the age of 45, following a skiing accident.
Since her passing, Liam has kept the details of his personal life mostly private. However, he doesn’t hesitate to share the impact Natasha has had on his career—particularly when he was deciding if he was going to play James Bond.
"I know they were looking at various actors and I apparently was among them," Liam said during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2021. "However, my dear, departed wife did say to me…'Darling, if you're offered James Bond and you're going to play it, you're not going to marry me.'"
And Liam isn’t only tight-lipped about his relationship with Natasha. The actor has also remained coy about the dating rumors he’s sparked with his The Naked Gun costar Pamela Anderson.
And while the duo haven’t publicly confirmed their status, they recently stepped out together—alongside their respective sons—during the film’s premiere July 30 and gushed about their working relationship.
Pam—who waked the carpet with her and ex Tommy Lee’s sons Dylan Jagger Lee, 29, and Brandon Thomas Lee, 27—told E! News that her costar is, "kind, sweet and funny.”
Adding, “He’s very silly."
And Liam echoed her sentiments, telling E! in the joint interview, “Pam is very silly too. She's a great woman."
